Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP)

Biodiversity is vulnerable, even in the National Park and for this reason the National Park Authority and partners produced Our Natural World – a Local Biodiversity Action Plan for the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park in 2001.

The Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP) identifies which habitats and species are of particular importance for conservation in the National Park and outlines key actions to be delivered the LBAP partnership.

The LBAP is an evolving document and subsequent reviews have taken place. LBAP action in the Park is now focused on those species and habitats identified as being of Principal Importance for Conservation in Wales under Section 42 of the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act. The list of ‘Section 42 species and habitats’ can be viewed here.

Related LBAP Actions can be viewed on the Biodiversity Action Reporting System (BARS).
