The Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority announced today that Aramark Limited have been selected through an open tender to run the café and tea rooms at the National Park Visitor Centre from 1 April 2017.
All the existing staff will be employed by the new provider, which will ensure that the café continues to deliver the excellent service visitors are accustomed to. The Authority were impressed with Aramark’s understanding of what makes the location such a popular attraction for both visitors and the local community, and with their intention to make a much needed investment in the café – Aramark are starting a £50,000 spend to improve the facilities and appearance of the café. Marie Healy, Business Development Manager at Aramark said:
“We are very excited to win this contract. The National Park Visitor Centre is an iconic site that attracts both tourists and local residents. We believe we can add real value to the ambience and to the food offering at the tearooms so that they will want to come back again and again. We look forward to welcoming everyone in April.”
Visitors to the centre this winter have been impressed with the new craft and gift shop delivered by the Platform One local craft producers group, and the Authority also confirmed that the partnership will continue into 2017. The events programme will continue at the Centre in 2017 with stargazing events, Cotswold tent shows, navigation events, children’s activities and our well-loved Summer Fayre over the August bank holiday.
