The Brecon Beacons National Park Authority is extending the activities of the extremely popular Upland Path Volunteers. In addition to maintenance and repair of the upland paths within the Brecon Beacons the group is adding two Wednesdays per month in their calendar. This is to undertake conservation and ecology work to help restore international important habitats within the Black Mountains. The volunteers will also help with upland path vegetation clearance to improve access to the Black Mountains.
Full training will be given for the practical tasks and to provide understanding of the work, as well as the opportunity to under take accredited certification in first aid and Lantra approved safe use of brushcutters. This can be difficult and strenuous work, with typical full days of productive hard work often in harsh weather conditions within the Black Mountains. If you would like to join the group and work within some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country please contact Martin Coleman – Martin.Coleman@beacons-npa.gov.uk or visit http://volunteers.beacons-npa.gov.uk/
