The programme recognises the special quality of Brecon Beacons National Park’s historic towns and villages.
Grants of up to £5,000 for up to 50% of total project costs are available to help individuals and community groups undertake works to conserve and enhance local heritage assets. Volunteer time and grants from other sources can be used as match funding.
Eligible works may include:
- Buildings – painting building facades, external works to roofs, render repairs etc.
- Archaeological features – vegetation management, repair of damage, works to improve the aesthetic values of a site, enhance understanding or raise awareness of its significance etc.
- Interpretation – the provision of interpretation boards relating to historic features within settlements, signage for heritage walking trails, publications promoting heritage aspects of places.
Who can apply?
Applications are open to individuals and community groups.
Individual Applicants: grants may be awarded to:
- Building owners
- Tenants – there must be least 10 years of the lease remaining, and the owner’s written permission to carry out the work must be provided with the application.
Community Groups: must be constituted with an operational bank account. Details will be required with the application.
