As part of the National Park’s ongoing celebrations for their 50th Anniversary a fantastic line-up of performers have been booked to perform at this picnic concert. Playing host for the evening will be the hugely popular BBC Wales presenter and comedian, Owen Money, who is due to pick up an MBE from Buckingham Palace later this month.
With Pen y Fan as its stunning backdrop, the concert is being staged in the idyllic grounds of the National Park Visitor Centre, near Libanus between 6.30pm and 9.30pm. Car parking will be provided for which there will be a minimal charge of £2.00.
In addition to this fantastic line up, ‘Picnic in the Park’ will feature a host of attractions including wildlife walks hosted by Brecknock Wildlife Trust, a hog roast, theatre displays, as well as other exciting surprises.
“Most people know that Brecon Beacons National Park is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year,” said Chris Gledhill, Chief Executive of Brecon Beacons National Park Authority. “So what better way to commemorate an anniversary than a summer’s evening packed with fabulous music and entertainment? It’s the first time the National Park Visitor Centre has held such an open air concert, and we hope that many people will come along and help us celebrate our 50th Anniversary on this special evening.”
Concert goers are invited to bring their own picnic hampers, although hot and cold food and drinks will also be available to purchase during the course of the evening. Special Welsh picnics can be pre-arranged by telephoning Andrew Powell on 01874 624 979 before 3rd July.
On the following day (7th July) friends and visitors can return to the National Park Visitor Centre between 11.00am and 4.00pm to experience the National Park Open Day. Why not find out how the National Park Authority and its partners work together to promote enjoyment and access for all? This is your opportunity to experience our guided walks, wildlife and activity workshops, bird box making, safaris and much, much more.
