The event will encourage new relationships between organic producers and hospitality businesses where local businessmen and women will spend a few minutes with prospective clients trying to find the perfect partnership. Many local organic food producers and businesses have already signed up to attend including Rheld Dairy Farm – makers of the ‘Crickhowell Crunch’ organic ice cream, Graig Barn Farm Organic Apple Juice, Aberhyddnant Farm Cottages and Liz Matthews’ Organic Food Hampers.
Carol Williams, Tourism Growth Officer for Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority said: “This free event offers businesses the perfect opportunity to build those valuable relationships which will promote local organic food and offer our visitors something special.
“We’ve been arranging speed dating for businesses for nearly three years now and we particularly want to give local businesses the opportunity to discuss their mutual needs to explore the areas where they are compatible at a local level.
“We are inviting local producers and businesses to sign up to attend this event. Each business will have a table to display their leaflets and information; and lunch and refreshments will be provided free.”
Carol Wacher, Event and Training Co-ordinator for the Organic Centre Wales said: “As visitors’ demand and interest grows for organic and local produce, we hope that this event will give the providers some new ideas about what organic produce is available from local farmers, growers and food processors.”
The event will take place on Wednesday 12th March from 10.30am – 3.00pm at the National Park Visitor Centre, near Libanus.
