Working as a Countryside Warden

My name is Jon Pimm and I am a Western Area Warden with the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority. I have worked for the Authority since May 2001 before which I was a Warden with the National Trust. I have also worked for Northumberland National Park in the past.

I consider myself very fortunate to be doing the job I do and being able to live and work in the National Park.

In my role I am responsible for the maintenance and management of the rights of way network, Management of land that is owned by the National Park Authority, liaison with visitors and residents of the park promoting its safe enjoyment, and enhancing the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the park.
